“I regret I have only one life to give for my country.”
– An Indian Soldier
As the nation pays tribute to the men in Olive on the occasion of Indian Army Day, it was but a privilege for our students to be invited to the K-Area to witness the various feats of the military engineers.
It was a proud moment for all our aspiring soldiers to see the glory of their nation’s army at its zenith. On display was varied equipment to lay tracks for vehicles in marshy or sandy terrain, to set up bridges, different rock breakers and snow cutters and mine laying equipment. Our students were fascinated with the diverse range of guns and tanks there bore a testimony to the strength of the nation in the field of defence. They also saw the bomb disposal kits and detectors used by our soldiers. Their hearts missed beats as they saw drills on tanks laying and crossing emergency bridges and carrying out attacks.
A Pipe Band display regaled the young audience with its melodious military tunes. It was a thrilling experience, indeed, for our young learners.
