“He told his son the secret of the cave, which his son handed down in his turn, so the children and grand children of Ali Baba were rich to the end of their lives.”
The oft quoted tale of Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves from The Arabian nights unfolded at the third grand Cultural Eve of Delhi Public World School, Zirakpur. A star-studded evening it was with our young, accomplished artists of Grades VI to IX exhibiting their talents.
An enchanting Shiv Aradhana laid the foundation for the spellbinding evening. TheFrench song ‘Allouette’ and ‘ShubhSwagatam’ lent it a euphonic air. Then came the humble Ali Baba with his ambitious and greedy brother Kassim and the very barbaric and crafty forty thieves who, with their cold-blooded and spiteful moves, captivated the audience. The rhythmically swaying belly dances were a feast to the senses. But the very prudent and sharp-witted slave girl, Morgiana and her canny moves enraptured everyone present. The agility with which she killed the leader of the thieves was beyond words.
Ma’am Maninder Pama thanked everyone for their support and guidance after which the stars of the show were introduced to the guests.
This delightfully vibrant evening concluded with a harmonious rendition of the School Anthem.
