AROUND THE WORLD IN THREE HOURS……

In the words of Saint Augustine, “The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page.”
As if in a dream, Delhi World Public School brought the entire world under its roofs, making it possible for all to journey around the globe in less than a few hours, making it an experience of its own kind, offering enlightenment beyond books and classrooms.
The Second Annual Exhibition, ‘Education Beyond Books’ was a sight to behold! The event pivoted around ‘Around the world….’, so apt as one could see the entire world brought together in the laps of Delhi World. All the classes displayed the unique characteristics of the countries allotted to them – the costumes, sports, relief, flora and fauna, cuisine, et al. Such a vibrant and bustling show of creativity and enthusiasm it was that had pats on the back galore and the hearts puffed up!
The trip began with a flight through Japan and West Indies by Grade 1 A and Iceland and Tunisia by 1 B, flying over the Alps in Switzerland and Mexico in Grade 2 and then moved on to Pakistan and Venezuela in Grade 3 A. Grade 3 B took us around to the footballing countries Argentina and Croatia. The soccer excitement could be felt in the air. The next halt was in the land of the Pyramids and the gift of the Nile, Egypt and the Kiwi land, New Zealand in Grade 4. One got a chance to dance to Brazilian numbers and savor their cuisine besides exploring the ancient city of Petra in Jordan in Grade 5. While Grade 6 took us to the country known for the Andes and the Atacama Desert, Chile and to Monaco, one could feel the desert again in Mongolia in Grade 7 and also explore Czechoslovakia and its breweries. Turkey and Vietnam were the countries we journeyed through in Grade 8. In Grade 9 one landed in The Holy Land, Jerusalem in Israel and the country of zebras and Kilimanjaro i.e. Tanzania.
The Roseland had their exhibits and the entire décor based on Circus, Noddy, the seasons, transport and the neighbourhood.
The Judges Mrs. Monika Awasthi, Mrs. Ravinder Pal Kaur and Mrs. Ramni Garg, from renowned schools across the tricity, were swept off their feet at such a stupendous display of talent.
