DPS World organized its second Inter-House event today. – Doha and Shlok competition. An atmosphere of tranquility and serenity was created which captivated the listeners.
The competition was judged by our Principal, Mrs. Jyoti Nagranee and Primary Head, Mrs. Maninder Pama.
The students of classes IV to VII were divided in two groups – Group 1 for Classes IV to VI and Group 2 for Class VII. The students were given 2 to 2.5 minutes to recite their dohas / shloks. All participants enchanted the audience by their performance.
After a tough competition, the following emerged as the winners:
Group 1 – 1st Naina Rana, 2nd – Paras Kohli, 3rd – Anmol Sachdeva
Group 2 – 1st Navya Gondhi 2nd – Rishamdeep Aulakh and Souhard Aditya
Brahmaputra House bagged the 1st position followed by Yamuna and Kaveri House.
The Principal, in her address, spoke about the Gurukul system of education in ancient India and the importance of Dohas and Shloks. She congratulated the winners and encouraged students to ‘raise the bar’ for themselves.
