“A parent is a teacher at home and a teacher is a parent in school and the child is the centre of our universe.”
Studies show, that when families are involved in the education of their children in positive ways, the children maximize on their untapped potentials and demonstrate positive attitude and behavior.
With this view, Delhi World Public School, Zirakpur, organised an Orientation Programme for the parents and guardians of the new students who have enrolled this year with renewed enthusiasm. The idea behind this programme was to help partner with the parents who along with the management, staff and the students are important stake-holders in the pursuit of imparting holistic learning to help our students become ‘men-and-women-for-others.’
The School Principal, Mrs. Jyoti Nagranee, in her address, laid stress on effective communication between the teachers and the parents and also sought their support and suggestions so that the children could be provided the best for their overall development. She apprised the parents of the various new initiatives taken by the School and also the steps taken to ensure the safety and security of the students.
The parents, “as partners in progress” were familiarized with the curriculum, rules and regulations of the school, teaching methodologies and the co-scholastic activities.
Thereafter, eager parents met the teachers to seek solutions to their queries and to ease their apprehensions.
