What better way to celebrate the joys of a festival like Raksha Bandhan than to do so with the brave saviours of the nation!

DPS World is an institution that holds these gallant souls of the Armed Forces in high regard.

With an aim to celebrate the festival with the brave soldiers, a trip to the Cantonment was organized for the students accompanied by their teachers. The group was given a very warm reception.

They were taken to the War Memorial where they were made aware of the heroic deeds of  all those who had laid down their lives while fighting to protect and safeguard the sanctity of their Motherland. It was a moment that filled everyone with pride for the martyrs.

They paid a visit to the Museum where they learnt about the various operations of the Indian Army. They also saw the weaponry acquired from the enemy during all those operations. The students were swayed by the enormity of it all.

It was time to honour all those who are dedicated to a selfless service of the nation. Our girl-students tied Rakhis on the wrists of the soldiers, applied Tilak on their foreheads and wished for their long lives. All the soldiers were deeply touched to the core of their hearts by this gesture. It ended with a small get-together for everyone.

The trip was an eye-opener for all the students. It gave them an insight into the life of an Indian soldier, filling their hearts with high reverence for all those determined to serve the nation and keep its glory soaring high. They took home memories to cherish for life.
