A presentation on “Diet & Physical Activity”

There was a comprehensive session on 19th July ’17 i.e. Wednesday, for Grades I to VIII on “Diet and Physical Activity” by our In-house Doctor, Dr. Ruchi Bansal.

The students were educated on the types and importance of all the six essential nutrients in our diet i.e. Carbohydrates, Proteins, Fats, Vitamins, Minerals and Water with various examples. A short and enlightening movie on diet and physical activity was shown to the students in order to make them understand the food pyramid and its effect on our body. Benefits of physical activity on brain and body organs were illustrated via an EEG image of head in a state of rest and during exercise.

This workshop was aimed at encouraging the students to eat healthy food along with physical activity in their daily life. It brought home the fact that they can change their home, their school, their work place but they can’t change their body. So, their body is the only place they have to live all their life in. Therefore, it is vital to take care of this ‘permanent home’ by eating nutritious food and engaging in some physical activity.
