National Unity Day at DPWS

“Manpower without Unity is not a strength unless it is harmonized and united properly, then it becomes a spiritual power.” These are the words of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the IRON MAN of India.

Renowned as the architect of independent India, Sardar Patel united 562 princely states to build the Republic of India to prove the depth of his words. His birthday on 31st October is declared as the National Unity Day.

A Special Assembly was held in the School to mark this occasion. Ma’am Hemlata Bhardwaj shared some facts from his life and his role in the unification of India. Thereafter, all the students were administered an oath of unity and pamphlets describing the role of Sardar Patel in the freedom and unification of the country were distributed amongst them. There was a Unity Run by Grades VIII and IX to foster the spirit of unity amongst the younger generation and the future torch bearers of the country. A ‘Prabhat Pheri’ was carried out by Grades IV to VI to spread the message of and emphasize on unity amongst the countrymen for a better and strong nation.
