“Children are like buds in a garden and should be carefully and lovingly nurtured, as they are the future of the nation and the citizens of tomorrow.”
As the nation celebrates the birth anniversary of our first Prime Minister, Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru and his love for children in the form of Children’s Day, a Special Assembly was held at Delhi Public World School to mark this occasion, conducted by the Teachers.
As usual, it began with chanting of shloks and a prayer to seek the blessings of the Almighty. Ma.am Sangeeta Jaswal delivered the thought while Ma’am Ekta Dhawan added to our vocabulary a new word. Ma’am Priyanka Jaitly had everyone in splits as she read the News that made headlines at DPWS. Ma’am Geetanjali Sharma’s poem “My Doggy ate my Homework” exposed all the excuses that students make for not having done their homework. All the students had a delightful time. There was a “Ghoomar” dance by Ma’am Ratika Baloria while Sir Sanjeev Kohli held everyone captive with his melodious rendition of a parody.
The show stopper was an energetic and rhythmic dance performance by Sir Ankur Bajaj. Such was the impact that he had all the students join him on the floor.
The Principal, Mrs. Jyoti Nagranee wished all the children happiness and added that they are the ‘Nation Builders’ as the future of the nation is vested in them. She expressed her hope that they would lead the nation successfully to its growth and prosperity, assuring them that they are loved and valued by all.
