Someone had once remarked – It would be hard for the coming generations to believe that there once lived a saint, in flesh and blood, who won freedom for his country by sheer non-violence.
This saint was none other than the ‘Father of the Nation’ – Mahatma Gandhi, whose Principles of Truth, Non-violence and Satyagraha swept the world.
His birthday i.e. 2nd October has been declared as International Day of Non-violence.
A Special Assembly was conducted on this occasion to pay homage to the greatest son of Mother India. Students expressed their views about his life, recited a poem and presented a brief account of his teachings.
His life sets an example for everyone as to how truth, perseverance and non-violence can lead one towards the attainment of goals.
