DPWS make every effort to give our children the exposure to the world out there. They are taken on excursions and field trips where they get the first hand learning experience by observation.

The students of Grades IV to VII were taken on a visit to the Hindustan Times Printing Press in Mohali along with a group of teachers. They were received very warmly and after being divided into three groups, were taken around the place with three guides.

They learnt, at length, the process of newspaper printing. They were told about the different types of paper and inks used in printing. Some of them were amazed at the huge machinery which was a sight to behold. The guides illuminated their young minds on the different departments engaged in the entire process like the Editorial, Advertisements, CTP (Computer to Plate), Production and Circulation.

The visit would be helpful in broadening their horizons and making them aware citizens.
