‘The song of the river ends not at her banks, but in the hearts of those who have loved her.’
Since times immemorial, rivers have seen civilisations flourishing, civilisationsdeclining.. They have carried, in their bosoms, countless tales of mankind. Their journey is a journey of life that goes on, unchained, unconquered..
The eve of 3rd August saw Delhi World flowing melodiously with the sparkling waters of the majestic rivers, unfolding legends, traditions and cultures of this vast but magnificent land.
After the Welcome Address and the ceremonial Lamp-lighting by the Chief Guest, Mr. Vikas Garg (IAS), the Chairman, Mr. Kewal Garg, Director, Ms Riya Garg, Principal, Mrs. Jyoti Nagraani and the Vice Principal, Mrs. Maninder Pama, the students of Grade X presented the Annual Report. While the Brahmaputra unfurled its mysterious journey from Tibet to the northeastern states, bringing to light the classical Manipuri, the very well-known Bamboo Dance from Nagaland and the legend of rivers Teesta and Rangit, the Narmada brought along the historical tales of Ashoka and his Kaling Battle, the teachings of Chanakya and a very soulful tribute to the Narmada. The rivers Indus and Chenab took us back into history, depicting the Vedic Gurukuls and the legend of river Chandrabhaga. The all-time favourite and world-famous love-story of HeerRanjha, with its tantalizing songs in the very dulcet voices of our talented singers, stirred the souls. What followed was an enthralling journey along the river Kaveri beginning with the legend of the Ganges of the South. The story of Hiranyakashyap, the demon king, and his son Pralhad kindled the spirits as did the spellbinding Peacock and Puppet dances, exhibiting the richness of the unique culture that the river has preserved.
All the LRP’s were introduced by Maám Maninder Pama. The event concluded with a melodious rendition of the School Anthem.
