A visit to the Post Office

Ever since the invention of the ‘Chip’, digitalization has given wings to communication. Nevertheless, the role of Postal services cannot be ignored.

DPS World organized an educational excursion to the Post Office for Classes I to V. The students, accompanied by teachers, left the School by bus at 9:00 a.m. Upon reaching there, they were received by a very cheerful employee of the Post Office who had been designated the duty to take the group around.

First, the students were taken to the ‘Stamps’ section. They were shown different stamps of India there. They were also apprised of the importance of stamps. The most interesting piece of knowledge for them was that they could even get a stamp made for themselves.

Next, they were taken to show the various counters for public services where they learnt how to buy stamps, letters, etc. Thereafter, they were taken to the ‘Sorting’ section. They were acquainted with the process of delivery of letters or other smaller parcels at their respective addresses. They had the opportunity to meet a POSTMAN, too. The students had many queries which he responded to very kindly and patiently.

Last but not the least, the group was taken to the canteen area and offered snacks.

The students enjoyed this very educative trip. It gave them an insight into the very traditional but a vital means of communication.
