Aware teachers: An asset

‘The influence of teachers extends beyond the classroom, well into the future.’-

The future of those in their care, to be nurtured into balanced, responsible and mature beings.

Delhi World is an institution that gives opportunities to grow not just to its students but also to its teachers. And one such opportunity came in the form of the workshops organized to prepare the teachers for the forth-coming session.

There was a workshop on ‘Mind Mapping’ conducted by Mr. Parvesh and Mr. Aditya from ORANGE Education. It was in interesting session which aimed at making teaching-learning interesting and effective with the use of Mind Maps. It led us to understand how a complicated topic can be simplified by drawing/learning through this very powerful tool.

There were a few engaging presentations by the teachers focusing on issues like ‘Student-Teacher relationships, Happiness and Humour in Classroom teaching.

A respite from the stressful life of the present times is the need of the hour. With this aim in mind, a very engrossing session was held on ‘Mindfulness’ by Lama Yeshe. He enlightened everyone on the need and the proper way to meditate. He also held that meditation can be used as an effective tool to improve the concentration of the students and help them cope with day-to-day stress.

The session ended with a short meditation practice with all the teachers.
