‘DAD and I’ at DPWS

DAD – A son’s first Hero and a daughter’s first Love.

But alas! The world has been so busy celebrating the virtues of a mother that the sacrifices and the love of a father have always gone unnoticed. The fact is that the role played by a father is no less glorious.

To recognize, appreciate and honour the eminence of a father, Delhi Public World School organized a programme ‘Dad and I’ wherein the fathers of all the students were invited.

After the Welcome Address, there was a slideshow of the fathers with their little angels displaying the strong bond that they share. Our little First Graders recited a very moving poem “Walk with me, Daddy…”. Students presented hand-made cards to their beloved Dads which stirred all the fathers present to the very core of their hearts. There were songs and dances dedicated to this great ‘unsung’ hero of everyone’s life. The French play had everyone in splits.

Then came the fathers’ turn to show their talents. There were games like ‘Hand in Hand’ and Musical Chairs where both the Dads and the apples of their eyes exhibited their great coordination and understanding. But the item that captivated every heart and lent an emotional touch to the air was the sharing of thoughts by the students for their fathers. It was an opportunity for them to pour their hearts out to the Heroes of their lives.

Towards the end of the show, prizes were given to the winners of the games. Mrs. Jyoti Nagranee, the Principal extended her greetings and shared her views on the respect and love that fathers deserve. She brought home the fact that it is the father who is the real celebrity. He is adventure, challenges, victory, sacrifice, love, opportunity and morality personified into one.

The day ended with a little ‘fiesta del té’ for the guests and the Staff.
