International Literacy Day

Benjamin Franklin had once said, “An investment in knowledge always pays the best interest.”

Realizing the importance of education or literacy for all today and in the times to come, 8th September was declared as the International Literacy Day.

This was also the theme of our Assembly, conducted by the students of Grade IV. After the customary prayer and hymns, Vaibhav Verma delivered the thought. Thereafter, some students sang a song, exhibiting their love for books. But the show-stopper was an enthralling Nukkad-Natak, based on the plight of a poor, illiterate woman who struggles hard to know the contents of a letter that she has received from one of her aunts. The play was very gracefully enacted by the students.

It was a theme very apt in the times when because of ignorance people tend to put their trust and faith in and follow hypocrites who call themselves the men of God.
