The spirit of Independence the DPWS way

“Thy spirit, Independence, let me share!

Lord of the lion-heart and eagle-eye,

Thy steps I follow with my bosom bare,

Nor heed the storm that howls along the sky.”

As the celebrations of this 72nd Independence Day echo in the air and in the skies above, the spirit could be felt in DPWS, too, as Principal Ma’am, along with Mr. Kewal Garg, the Chairman and the Chief Guest for the occasion, unfurled the Tricolour followed by a melodious and sentimental rendition of the National Anthem. It was a moment that filled everyone with pride and awe for the nation and its saviors. The rhythm and melodious strains of patriotic songs resonated in the air. The students set the stage ablaze with their vigorous, foot-tapping moves and their acting finesse. The Nukkad Natak or the Street Play depicting the evils our country is wrought with, was food for thought.

The most awaited event that proved to be a seasoning for the day, was the Talent Hunt Show. It was an affirmation of the fact that our younger ones are a treasure-house of talent, just waiting for an opportunity to burst open. Students rocked the stage with their dances while their tuneful songs were a feast to the ears.

Principal Ma’am greeted everyone on this historic occasion and encouraged the students to rise above all the barriers and fight for themselves and their nation.
