Independence Day at DPS World

Where the mind is without fear

And the head is held high…

The first Independence Day celebrations took place in DPS World School, Zirakpur. The school was launched in April ’16. The Chairman, Mr. Kewal Garg, his wife and daughter were there to grace the occasion. The flag was unfurled by the Principal Mrs. Jyoti Nagranee. This was a dream that our freedom fighters had seen for India and it came true on the historic moment on 15th August, 1947, the red-letter day, when India became free after a long struggle and as a result of the sacrifices made by all those great sons and daughters of Mother India.

DPS World, Zirakpur celebrated this momentous occasion with all its pride and dignity. The unfurling of the flag was followed by a melodious singing of the National Anthem and ‘Saare jahaan se achcha’.

Mrs. Nagranee congratulated everyone on this proud occasion. She motivated all the students to grow up as responsible and conscientious citizens of India so that its glory keeps soaring high.

The show-stopper was the song “Ae mere watan ke logon” sung by Mrs. Amandeep Kaur which held everyone spellbound with streaming eyes. Sweets were distributed to students, followed by high tea for staff.
