International Peace Day

‘I’d rather have peace on Earth than pieces of Earth.’

We are all witnessing times when the world strained with conflicts – both internal and external, poverty, nuclear competition, terrorism etc.

The time has come when we all joined hands to bring back the lost glory of our Earth. In an endeavour to work towards this great cause, the U.N. declared 21st September as the International Peace Day which is observed throughout the world, aiming to stop wars and violence and promote peace and harmony.

We, at DPS World, have always believed in love peace and harmony for all. A Special Assembly was held to mark the occasion. Students sang a hymn followed by a short talk by Ma’am Sharma who familiarized the students with the importance of the day and their role as the future citizens. Thereafter all the students and members of the Staff observed silence for a minute to honour the noble thought.

It concluded with lighting of candles by everyone as a tribute to all the martyrs of the recent terrorist attack on an army camp in Uri, Jammu and Kashmir.
